Maloja - 2014
The Mota Farun residential building is located on the southern edge of the village of Maloja. The basic idea behind the development was primarily to create living space for families with children. This is why the "Mota Farun" housing cooperative was founded. The building is characterised by its reduced formal language. The structure was divided into two parts in the middle, which are slightly offset from each other and are only connected by the common staircase. This measure reduces the scale of the building volume and provides the stairwell with daylight and the flats with longer and better sunlight.
The façades are made of coloured exposed concrete and refer to the surrounding older buildings which have a similar earth tone with its reddish-brown colour. There are four floors of flats plus the basement which contains cellar compartments, a technical room and laundry rooms as well as a parking garage with 14 parking spaces.
