The Academia Engiadina is a regional secondary school (the third largest in the canton of Graubünden) with a grammar school, a commercial secondary school and with the possibility of completing the vocational bachelor’s degree. The campus is also home to the Graubünden College of Tourism. The aim of the project was to expand the existing structures in order to accommodate the entire secondary school in a single building. To do so, the studio opted for a new connection unit between the existing constructions, in which new and old remains distinct and recognisable in structure and materialisation. Conceptually, a house within a house has been created.
